About Us
Not A Statistic Northeast CIC is a community interest company dedicated to reducing social isolation, improving mental wellbeing, and creating inclusive spaces where people can connect, share experiences, and support one another. We deliver peer support groups, daytime drop‑ins, one-to-one support, community outreach activities, events, and wellbeing projects across Sunderland and the wider North East. Alongside our community work, we operate NotADesign Agency, a social enterprise creative agency providing design, marketing, branding, and content creation services. Income generated through the agency directly supports the delivery and growth of our mental health services.
About the Role
This unique role sits across both NotAStatistic Northeast CIC and NotADesign Agency. Approximately half of the role will focus on supporting the delivery of our mental health and community services, including peer support groups, drop‑ins, outreach activities, and community events. The remaining aspect of the role will involve supporting the growth and operation of NotADesign Agency through administration, content creation, marketing, and creative project support. As a growing organisation, flexibility is essential. The successful candidate will be expected to adapt to changing priorities, support new projects as they develop, and contribute positively wherever needed. No two days will be the same, and we are looking for someone who enjoys variety, takes initiative, and is passionate about making a positive difference.

Working Pattern
The role requires flexibility and will include a combination of daytime, evening, and occasional weekend work. The successful candidate must be available for:
- Regular evening sessions
- Friday afternoon work
- Community events and activities as required
Working hours will be agreed in advance and may vary depending on organisational needs.
Key Responsibilities
Community Support- Support the delivery of peer support groups, drop‑ins, outreach activities, and wellbeing programmes.
- Assist attendees in accessing appropriate support and signposting services.
- Help create safe, welcoming, and inclusive environments for all participants.
- Provide practical support to service users where appropriate.
- Work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and partner organisations.
- Support colleagues during challenging situations and contribute positively to team wellbeing.
- Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed and concerns are reported appropriately.
- Represent the organisation professionally within the community.
- Assist with the planning and delivery of community events, awareness campaigns, networking activities, and fundraising events.
- Support event set‑up, delivery, and pack‑down.
- Engage with attendees and partner organisations.
- Promote organisational activities within the community.
- Occasionally represent the organisation at meetings, conferences, and networking events.
- Support the day‑to‑day operation of NotADesign Agency.
- Assist with social media content creation and scheduling.
- Create promotional materials using Canva and other digital tools.
- Support branding, marketing, and creative projects.
- Maintain accurate records and administrative systems.
- Assist with client communications where required.
- Contribute ideas for campaigns, projects, and organisational growth.
- Work independently and use initiative to solve problems.
- Support volunteers, session facilitators, and newer team members.

Essential Criteria
Experience & Knowledge- Experience supporting vulnerable individuals or community groups.
- Experience working with people with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities).
- Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding principles and procedures.
- Strong computer literacy and confidence using digital systems.
- Experience using Canva or similar design software.
- Experience creating content for social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn.
- Understanding of social media engagement and digital communication.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and use initiative.
- Strong organisational skills.

- Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle.
Safeguarding

- Complete an Enhanced DBS Check prior to employment.
Probation Period
This role is subject to a six‑month probationary period. Performance, attendance, conduct, suitability for the role, and alignment with organisational values will be reviewed throughout the probation period.
