Nosy Crow is looking to recruit an International Sales Assistant to support a dynamic and collaborative Foreign Rights team, responsible for selling translation rights to publishers around the world. The purpose of the Rights department is to get as many Nosy Crow books published in as many languages as possible across the globe. We are a fast-paced team that visits publishers and book fairs in multiple countries throughout the year.
Nosy Crow is a multi-award winning, independent children’s publishing company with operations in both the UK and the USA. We make child-focused, parent-friendly children’s books for ages 0-12. Nosy Crow’s Rights department won the International Award at the Independent Publisher’s Guild in 2025 and is shortlisted for Rights Professionals of the Year at The 2026 British Book Awards. This is a full-time position and is a hybrid role, working a minimum of three days per week in our office near to London Bridge. The successful candidate will have the right to live and work in the UK.
Purpose of the Job: The successful candidate will report to the Rights Manager and will provide administrative support to all seven members of the team, travelling to Frankfurt and Bologna Book Fairs and other key territories (language depending).
Key responsibilities and tasks will range from:
- Pitching books to foreign customers
- Liaising with overseas publishers and with Nosy Crow’s production, design and editorial teams to ensure the smooth running of co-edition print runs and translation deals
- Creating rights appointment schedules for book fairs and sales trips
- Collating and submitting digital sales material and sample copies
- Updating sales databases
- Providing general administrative support as required by the Rights department
Key skills, characteristics and capabilities:
- Highly proficient in written and spoken English
- Team-player with excellent communication skills
- Strong organisational skills and an eye for detail
- The ability to multitask and work well under pressure
- Initiative and the ability to work independently
- Strong interest in publishing, particularly children’s books
- Strong sales and numeracy skills
No prior publishing experience is necessary in order to apply for the role. The starting salary for this role is £28,000.
