We’re now looking for a Payroll Onboarding Specialist to join our growing Payroll team. In this role, you’ll have the unique opportunity to lead the end-to-end setup of new client payrolls, shaping the SOPs that keep our onboarding accurate and scalable as we grow.

Contract: Full-time contractor

Hours: UK business hours

What you’ll be doing:

  • New Payroll Setup: Lead end-to-end configuration of new client payrolls, including pay elements, tax codes, pension schemes, and statutory settings.
  • SOPs & Process: Develop, document, and maintain SOPs for payroll onboarding to ensure consistency, quality, and a repeatable process as we scale.
  • Client Liaison: Act as the main point of contact for clients during onboarding, guiding them through data collection, system setup, and go-live.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Liaise with the wider payroll team, onboarding team, customer success, and product to ensure a smooth handover, aligned timelines, and resolution of any issues that arise during setup.
  • Feedback Loop: Flag recurring pain points, bugs, or feature requests to the product team based on what comes up during onboarding.
  • Migrations: Support payroll migration projects as needed, moving clients from existing systems onto our platform.

What you’ll bring:

  • Essential:
    • Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
    • Experience setting up or onboarding new payrolls onto a system or platform.
    • Comfortable liaising across multiple internal teams and directly with clients.
    • Strong attention to detail, particularly around system configuration and data accuracy.
    • Comfortable creating and maintaining process documentation and SOPs.
    • Able to manage multiple onboarding projects at once.
    • Able to work UK business hours.
  • Desirable:
    • Experience with Ireland payroll legislation.
    • Previous experience in hospitality payroll.
