At Nory, we are on a mission to put restaurants back in control of their own profitability. Because what’s better for operators, is better for chefs, waiters, baristas, investors and customers alike. It’s a big challenge and we need brilliant minds to help us get there. Join us and make an impact today.
What makes us tick? It’s not easy to disrupt an entire sector, but we’re not scared of a challenge. Instead we focus on the small daily wins that keep moving at pace. We’re solving problems, not creating solutions. We take pride in our work, and in our team. We’re always looking to grow and learn, as individuals and a collective. And we keep things simple. Making things complicated or confusing isn’t really our thing. The problems we’re tackling might be complex, but our product and processes will always be straightforward.

Let’s fix hospitality, for good. Hospitality is tough – margins are thin, waste is high, and teams are stretched. But it doesn’t have to be this hard. That’s why we built Nory. Our CEO, Conor, knows the pain first-hand. After founding and scaling Mad Egg in Ireland, he got fed up with juggling “market-leading” systems, clunky spreadsheets, and endless printouts. So he set out to build the tool he wished he’d had from day one. Nory is an all-knowing restaurant management system. It blends real-time data with AI predictive analytics, giving operators control of their margins. From food prep to forecasting, it’s operational intelligence that helps restaurants run with consistency, certainty, and profit. The result? Thriving restaurants, better jobs, less waste, healthier margins.
Now, with demand growing faster than we imagined - and a recent Series B led by Kinnevik - we’re scaling fast. We’ve grown to a team of 70+ across Ireland, the UK and the US, and we’re just getting started. We have recently brought in our first VP Finance who is scaling our operations function to help power our next chapter of growth, from international expansion to preparing for Series C. We are now hiring our first Group Financial Controller to report into the VP Finance and support her in building out a powerful finance function, owning core accounting, reporting and compliance, while she focuses on strategic, commercial and investor-facing work.
With finance currently fully outsourced, it’s an exciting opportunity to internalise core finance, build a modern stack from scratch, and transition ownership in-house without the pain of undoing legacy systems. With entities in Ireland, the UK and just opening in the US, we are looking for someone who has experience of managing finance across multiple geographies. As the business scales, this role will evolve to lead a growing in-house finance team and underpin future fundraising and expansion. You’ll be London-based and happy working hybrid, spending 2–3 days a week in the office collaborating closely with our VP Finance and Head of Operations.
What you’ll be doing:
- Scale systems and processes: Design scalable workflows and implement the right tech stack as we expand internationally.
- Own core finance operations: Lead AP, AR, banking, FX, reconciliations, global payroll, VAT, intercompany, filings, journals, expenses etc - building appropriate automations and hiring an appropriate team to support with this.
- Build robust financial foundations: Rework our chart of accounts; work cross-functionally to build clean definitions, methodologies and accounting policies (e.g. revenue recognition).
- Lead financial reporting: Lead month and year end close for all entities and consolidated group; create insightful month end and board reporting packs.
- Manage the audit: Design and implement an audit-ready finance function ahead of our first statutory audit (of FY26 in 2027), including auditor selection and dry runs during 2026.
- Be our accounting authority: The VP Finance is commercially and strategically focused rather than accounting-qualified so you will act as the company’s accounting authority, owning accounting policies, technical judgement, and relationships with auditors and advisors.
- Own treasury management: Design and administer treasury and cash management policies appropriate for a multi-entity, multi-currency group, maximising interest and reducing fees.
- Improve financial visibility: Deliver timely, accurate, and actionable reporting for the CEO, SLT, and investors.
- Ensure tax compliance: Own global tax compliance (with advisor support), including VAT, US sales tax and transfer pricing.
What you’ll bring:
- Qualified accountant with strong controllership experience: You are a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) with 6–10+ years’ experience in hands-on finance roles, including significant time as a Financial Controller, Group FC or Head of Accounting in a fast-growing environment (ideally B2B SaaS or tech).
- Excellent technical accounting foundations: You bring strong technical accounting judgement, ideally developed through training in a Big 4 audit environment or an equivalent high-quality audit or advisory background. You are comfortable owning accounting policies (e.g. revenue recognition), leading month and year-end close, preparing consolidated accounts, and acting as the primary accounting authority for the business.
- Experience managing finance across multiple jurisdictions (e.g. UK, Ireland, US), including VAT, payroll, intercompany, FX and local statutory requirements.
- Core finance operations expertise: You’ve owned end-to-end finance operations including AP, AR, payroll, banking, reconciliations and tax compliance, and have experience transitioning from outsourced support to a high-quality in-house finance function. You have a strong bias toward automation, standardisation and building processes that scale.
- Systems-and process-minded: Comfortable designing scalable finance processes and implementing modern finance systems. You’ve worked with tools such as Xero (or similar), expense management tools, and payroll providers, and know how to build an audit-ready environment from first principles.
- Detail-oriented, structured and accountable: You care deeply about accuracy, consistency and clarity. You bring structure to complexity, hit deadlines, and take pride in producing numbers the business can trust.
- Hands-on leader with ownership mindset: Happy to get into the weeds where needed, especially early on, while building toward a future-state finance team and best-in-class controls.
- Calm, pragmatic and confident in judgement: You’re comfortable operating with ambiguity, making sound accounting judgement calls, and providing clear guidance to non-finance stakeholders as the business scales.
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience preparing a business for its first statutory audit.
- Exposure to US sales tax and transfer pricing in a growth-stage company.
- Experience hiring and leading a small finance team.
If you’re excited by what we’re building, we’d love to hear from you — even if you don’t tick every box.
