Team Leader Role – Residential Care Home

Ravenswood Village, Crowthorne, Berkshire

£28,155.60 per annum (£15 per hour)

36 hours per week, to include weekends

We are looking for a Team Leader in our Tova residential home, to join our friendly team within Ravenswood Village. Tova is a residential service that supports people with neurodevelopmental disabilities to live their best lives. The purpose of this role is to oversee the delivery of care and support within the home to ensure high quality of service provided. The majority of your time will be leading and supervising support workers to make sure that the care and support provided is person-centred and that each person living in the home is given information and advice in an accessible way that enables them to make informed decisions about their care and support. As a Team Leader you will also be involved in the recruiting and training of support workers as well as assisting the Home Manager in finances, rosters, reporting, maintenance and Health and Safety.

The ideal Care Team Leader must be a great communicator, work well within a team and have strong time management and leadership skills. About Tova: Tova is a single level ground floor home that supports seven people who are aged from their early twenties to their late sixties. All have severe learning disabilities, epilepsy and physical support needs. The majority of the people we support do not communicate verbally. Instead, they use alternative methods of communication such as objects of reference, verbal sounds, facial expressions and body language and Makaton. All of the people living in Tova require a high level of support in all aspects of their lives including personal care, mobilising, meal preparation, mealtimes (eating & drinking) and activities. The people we support living in Tova have varied hobbies and interests and lifestyles. These include swimming, trampolining, arts and crafts, baking, sensory sessions, music sessions, bingo, karaoke, meals out, theatre, bowling, stickers, walks, gardening and holidays.

Essential skills:

  • Experience in Care and Support of Adults with Learning Disabilities
  • Experience in person centred planning and risk assessment
  • Ability and willing to swim and support others in our hydrotherapy pool
  • QCF Level 3 or NVQ 3 or willingness to work towards a relevant care qualification
  • Knowledge of current legislation
  • Excellent leadership skills and experience
  • Effective communicator
  • Holder of a full, clean UK driving licence.
