About the Role

We are looking for a reliable Laundry Assistant to support the day‑to‑day laundry service for the people we support. This role plays an important part in maintaining comfort, dignity, and high standards of care within our service. You’ll ensure residents’ clothing and linens are cleaned, prepared, and returned promptly, while working safely and respectfully within a supportive team environment. Your work helps create a safe, welcoming, and well‑organised home environment.

Your day to day:

  • Operate washing machines and tumble dryers safely and efficiently.
  • Iron residents’ clothing and laundry as required.
  • Sew on name labels and carry out basic hand‑stitching repairs for small holes and tears.
  • Ensure all clean laundry is prepared and returned to residents in a timely manner.
  • Monitor stock levels of laundry products and cleaning essentials.
  • Report any faults or maintenance issues with laundry equipment.
  • Follow all Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle residents’ belongings with care and respect.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and volunteers to support service delivery.
