Portable Appliance Tester to cover all of North Yorkshire working within North Yorkshire Council buildings.

National Living wage + Bonus + Bus Pass/Tram Pass + Expenses + Tools. Average Salary 28k. Full training given with progression opportunities. Permanent Role.

Must hold Full Manual UK Drivers Licence. Must pass Full enhanced DBS check.

40 hrs per week Monday – Friday, Some Weekend Work may be required and on occasion out of hours work. Some time will involve time spent away from home from Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment (PAT) in accordance with the current edition of the IET Code of Practice.

Produce results which meet the requirements and quality standards of clients and external accrediting bodies.

Manage appliance testing in accordance with Health & Safety Regulations.

Liaise with customers to ensure that the work is carried out efficiently and to customer\’s requirements, whilst limiting the disruption to their business. Lots of sites consist of Schools, Hospitals, Hotels and Universities.

Work with Microsoft Office and email. Week‐by‐week must download results and send them to the PAT team at Head Office.

Job schedules will be arranged by the PAT Team at Head Office. Manage own time efficiently and successfully.

Maintain an acceptable time‐keeping track record, ensuring start and finish times are adhered to, as directed by the PAT Manager.

Identify, prevent, or pre‐empt any potential areas for customer dissatisfaction, for example, arriving late due to traffic. Good route preparation and forward planning is vital.
