Portable Appliance Tester to cover all of North Yorkshire working within North Yorkshire Council buildings. National Living wage + Bonus + Bus Pass/Tram Pass + Expenses + Tools. Average Salary 28k. Full training given with progression opportunities. Permanent Role. Must hold Full Manual UK Drivers Licence. Must pass Full enhanced DBS check. 40 hrs per week Monday – Friday, Some Weekend Work may be required and on occasion out of hours work. Some time will involve time spent away from home from Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment (PAT) in accordance with the current edition of the IET Code of Practice.
- Produce results which meet the requirements and quality standards of clients and external accrediting bodies.
- Manage appliance testing in accordance with Health & Safety Regulations.
- Liaise with customers to ensure that the work is carried out efficiently and to customer’s requirements, whilst limiting the disruption to their business.
- Lots of sites consist of Schools, Hospitals, Hotels and Universities.
- Work with Microsoft Office and email.
- Week‑by‑week must download results and send them to the PAT team at Head Office.
- Job schedules will be arranged by the PAT Team at Head Office.
- Manage own time efficiently and successfully.
- Maintain an acceptable time‑keeping track record, ensuring start and finish times are adhered to, as directed by the PAT Manager.
- Identify, prevent, or pre‑empt any potential areas for customer dissatisfaction, for example, arriving late due to traffic.
- Good route preparation and forward planning is vital.
