We are a well-established, successful and expanding electrical compliance contractor, and we are looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Contracts Manager to join our team. This is a key role supporting the Head of Electrical Operations in delivering high-quality commercial electrical compliance and service contracts across a wide range of sectors.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Senior Electrical Contracts Manager, you will play a pivotal role within the Electrical Operations team, working closely with the Head of Department to manage and deliver multiple commercial electrical compliance projects from start to finish. We operate primarily within the commercial sector, covering schools, office buildings, industrial factories, warehouses, public buildings and hospitals.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Operational & Contract Management
- Managing a team of 10+ field-based engineers.
- Acting as a day-to-day operational lead for Technical staff and Electricians delivering your contracts.
- Liaising with on-site staff and specialist subcontractors.
- Reporting on completed works and escalating issues promptly.
- Ensuring all works meet required quality and compliance standards.
- Managing labour allocation, material supply and general contract requirements.
- Identifying opportunities to improve contract efficiency and implementing improvements.
- Attending client meetings to discuss requirements, progress and performance.
- Conducting site visits to monitor progress and ensure smooth running of contracts.
- Providing expert technical support and problem-solving to engineers, clients and internal teams.
- Supporting NICEIC compliance as a Qualified Supervisor, ensuring adherence to regulatory and company standards.
- Supporting the Head of Department with people management matters.
- Participating in HR disciplinary meetings where performance, conduct or operational issues relate to your team, providing factual input and supporting fair, consistent and compliant outcomes.
About You
You will be an experienced electrical professional with strong technical knowledge and proven experience managing commercial electrical contracts.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as an Electrical Contracts or Project Manager.
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Installation.
- 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations (C&G 2382-18 or later).
- Electrical Inspection & Testing (C&G 2391 or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of BS 7671, Electricity at Work Regulations and relevant Codes of Practice.
- NICEIC Qualified Supervisor status.
- Excellent communication and IT skills (Word, Excel).
- Experience managing commercial-sector electrical contracts.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Self-motivated, organised and able to use initiative.
- Willingness to travel to sites across the regions we operate in.
Desirable
- Health & Safety certifications (IOSH, SSSTS or SMSTS).
- Experience managing both small- and large-scale projects.
Hours
Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm No weekend working.
