The predicted salary is between 24214 - 29594 Β£ per year.
We are looking for 3 (three) Grounds Operatives at Level 2 or Level 3, depending on your skills, experience and qualifications, to join our service-driven Grounds Maintenance team. The role will involve maintaining and improving the standard of parks, open spaces and housing areas in accordance with agreed schedules and the requirements of Norwich City Council.
You will carry out a range of grounds maintenance activities, including:
- Grass cutting
- Hedge cutting
- Shrub bed maintenance
- Wood chipping
- Spraying
- Sports turf maintenance
- Litter picking
- Bin emptying
The role will also involve operating a range of vehicles, plant and equipment, carrying out pre-use checks and reporting any defects. We are looking for people with practical grounds maintenance experience and the ability to safely operate commercial grounds maintenance equipment. You will need to follow written and verbal instructions, work safely in all weather conditions and communicate with members of the public when required.
Depending on the level of the role, you will have experience and qualifications in areas such as:
- Hedge cutting
- Strimming
- Pedestrian and ride-on mowers
- Blowers
- Woodchippers
- Spraying
For Level 3, experience with chainsaws and woodchippers, together with a horticultural qualification or equivalent experience, would be expected.

This role is for 37 hours per week, but to ensure flexibility and promote an inclusive workplace part time hours or a job share agreement will be considered.

Requirements
- Level 2: Full UK driving licence, Advanced experience in the use of commercial grounds maintenance equipment, Experience in the use of a knapsack sprayer.
- Level 3: Full UK driving - Category B + E licence (For towing role), Horticultural qualification or equivalent experience, Expert knowledge in the use of commercial grounds maintenance equipment.
- Level 2 & 3: Lantra qualification or equivalent in the safe use of hedge cutters, strimmers, pedestrian mowers, ride on mowers, hand and backpack blowers, Able to carry out physical work in all weather conditions, Able to make simple decisions during the working day.
