Norwich City Football Club is looking for an enthusiastic, organised and proactiveBusiness Operations Assistantto join the Club's Football Development department.
This is an exciting opportunity to work directly for Norwich City Football Club, supporting the operational delivery of the Club's Football Development programmes and player pathway across multiple regions.
Working closely with the Head of Football Development and the department's Regional Leads, the successful candidate will play an important role in the day-to-day running and continued development of our programmes, with particular responsibility for supporting delivery across Hertfordshire, Suffolk and Surrey.
This is a varied, fast-paced role for someone who enjoys taking responsibility, solving problems and getting stuck in. No two days are likely to look exactly the same.
The role
Key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the day-to-day implementation and administration of the Norwich City Football Club Football Development player pathway across Hertfordshire, Suffolk and Surrey.
- Working closely with Regional Leads to support the effective running of Development and Advanced Centre programmes.
- Supporting player administration, including registrations, preparing and distributing player offer letters and maintaining accurate programme information.
- Supporting communication with players, parents, coaches and staff across the department.
- Assisting with the recruitment of coaches and staff across Football Development.
- Coordinating the onboarding of new coaches, working closely with Norwich City Football Club's HR team to ensure a smooth and efficient process.
- Helping oversee safeguarding and player welfare within the Football Development department and ensuring the standards and processes of Norwich City Football Club are maintained.
- Supporting the organisation and operational delivery of fixtures, tournaments and other Football Development events.
- Organise and run the department's football holiday camps and after-school club programmes.
- Taking a leading role in the delivery of our HAF programme across three venues in Cambridgeshire.
- Providing wider operational and administrative support to the Head of Football Development and wider department as required.
Who we're looking for
This could be an excellent opportunity for someone with an administration or operations background who wants to begin or develop a career working within professional football.
Previous experience working for a professional football club isn't essential. More important is someone who is highly organised, communicates well, takes ownership of their work and has a genuine passion for football and the development of children and young people.
The department operates at a fast pace, so you'll need to be comfortable managing multiple priorities and responding to situations as they arise. We're looking for someone who doesn't simply wait to be given the next task, but is proactive, adaptable and willing to get stuck in wherever required.
Experience in administration, operations, recruitment, safeguarding, youth football or children's programmes would be advantageous.
Working pattern
The role is primarily Monday to Friday, approximately 9am-5pm, although flexibility is required due to the nature of working within football.
There will be occasional evening visits to Football Development centres across our regions.
