City College Norwich is seeking an experienced and motivated professional to lead our AM2 Assessment Centre and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the electrical workforce.
About the Role:
As the AM2 Centre Manager, you will provide strong operational and strategic leadership for our AM2 Assessment Centre, ensuring it continues to deliver high quality, industry standard assessments for aspiring electricians. You will oversee the day to day running of the centre, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks (NET, awarding bodies, and industry standards), maintaining exceptional learner experience, and leading continuous improvement. This is an exciting opportunity to work with employers, apprentices, curriculum teams and external partners to ensure our AM2 offer meets industry needs and supports successful progression into employment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Manage the daily operation of the AM2 Centre, ensuring an efficient, safe and high-quality assessment environment.
- Quality Assurance: Lead on compliance, internal quality processes and preparation for external audits and regulatory activity.
- Technical Expertise: Maintain high technical standards, ensuring assessments are delivered in line with NET requirements and current industry practice.
- Team Leadership: Support, develop and lead assessors, technicians and administrative staff to foster excellence and continuous improvement.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with employers, apprenticeship providers and wider college teams to ensure the centre meets regional and national workforce needs.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive innovation, evaluate processes and enhance learner experience to support high success rates and strong industry reputation.
About You:
- Relevant technical qualification in Electrical Installation.
- Assessor or verifier qualifications (A1/V1, TAQA or equivalent) or commitment to achieve.
- Proven experience in electrical training, assessment or curriculum delivery.
- Demonstrable leadership or supervisory experience in a technical or education setting.
- Strong understanding of industry regulations, NET standards and health & safety requirements.
