ROLE LOCATION

This is a remote role, where the ideal candidate will be in either of the following locations, Glasgow/ Edinburgh (M8 Corridor) or Newcastle/ Sunderland.

BASIC PURPOSE

The purpose of the role is to be the field-based representative for NCL in a designated territory, visiting retail-based travel agents, homeworkers and contact centers to provide coaching, training and support for NCL product, and to deliver booking targets for the region.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Execute a strategic coverage plan with the aim of developing NCL brand awareness and familiarity across all channels within an assigned territory.
  • On a weekly / monthly / quarterly basis, plan and execute an effective coverage plan that ensures NCL “walks through the door” of the optimum number of engaged retail travel agents and contact centers.
  • On each visit, deliver a structured sales call, using the sales tools provided, to ensure tactical and strategic messages are delivered, and information is gathered and fed back.
  • Create an approach and database to effectively engage with and communicate to homeworkers.
  • On a daily / weekly basis, compile and record results and performance against KPIs as set by the SBDM.
  • Build strong relationships with key front-line travel agents, identifying opportunities for material sales growth.
  • Deliver NCL Brand training to travel agents, ensuring they can confidently sell NCL cruises.
  • Identify new business development opportunities and act on opportunities to grow territory sales.
  • Host travel agent and consumer events and represent NCL at trade shows, both regionally and nationally.
EXPERIENCE

Minimum 3 years’ experience in a travel environment, either as an agent or as an operator. Strong knowledge of the UK travel market, travel agents and the key operators within the UK.

COMPETENCIES/ SKILLS

Sales-oriented individual with experience in representation and / or business development. A self-starter who is able to prioritise workload effectively. Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Strong and confident communication and presentation skills. Good Excel and PowerPoint knowledge, with the ability to analyse and interpret data.
