DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
The Garment Technology team is responsible for ensuring the fit, quality, compliance and technical performance of garments across Norty’s multi-brand portfolio.
PRINCIPAL SCOPE & PURPOSE OF JOB
The Garment Technologist will play a key role in ensuring all products meet Norty Ltd’s quality, fit, construction, and performance standards from development through to bulk production.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
- Create and maintain detailed technical packs and garment specifications.
- Review and approve samples throughout development stages including proto, fit, PPS, and production samples.
- Measure garments against specifications and identify corrective actions where required.
- Ensure consistency of fit, grading, construction, and sizing across all product categories.
- Work closely with suppliers to resolve technical and quality issues efficiently.
- Monitor garment construction methods and recommend improvements for quality and cost efficiency.
- Support fabric and trim approvals.
What We’re Looking For
- 2-5 years’ experience in a Garment Technologist or similar role.
- Strong understanding of garment construction, fabrics, grading, and manufacturing processes.
- Strong knowledge of fit analysis and garment measurements.
- Experience in communicating with overseas suppliers and factories.
- Understanding of garment testing standards and quality assurance procedures.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Confident communicator with the ability to provide clear technical feedback.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience with Adobe Illustrator is desirable but not essential.
