Norton’s are looking for an additional Commercial Vehicle (HGV) Fitter to join our team, based from our yard in Ystradgynlais South Wales. The role will be workshop based (though breakdown cover may be required), to help keep our fleet of wagons and trailers running safely and efficiently.
The role will be responsible for:
- Servicing and maintaining our fleet of commercial vehicles and trailers
- Diagnostics, fault finding and carrying out effective repairs
- Undertaking required 6 Weekly inspections
- MOT test preparation
- Part onsite / roadside breakdown cover (during normal working week hours)
- Completing inspections sheets, job cards and service reports
- Selection and ordering of the required parts, equipment and consumables
- Working closely and interacting well with other fitters and management
- Supporting the wider (company) team and contributing to a positive and harmonious environment
Previous experience in working on commercials; HGV’s, trailers, equipment etc. is essential for this role. Candidate must hold a valid UK driver’s licence for a car. Holding a Class 1 (C+E) would be beneficial. Relevant qualifications or accreditation ie. NVQ, IRTEC would be beneficial, though not essential.
The position is full time Mon-Sat. Normal weekday hours are 07:00-17:00. Weekend hours are Saturdays only 07:00-12:00. Overtime payable. Competitive remuneration package. Weekly paid. Company vehicle provided.
