Overview

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious individual to join a progressive, proactive and customer-centric team.

The successful candidate will contribute to driving forward the continuous improvement agenda for the Commercial Finance and Revenue Operations function and collaborate with other business support professionals.

You will be an experienced pricing professional with strong communication and soft skills, able to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

The Manager, Pricing and Commercial Insights will support the development and execution of the firm\'s pricing agenda, ensuring benchmarking, analytical tools and capabilities exist to support firm and finance departmental strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Advise Partners on ways to maximise the value of client relationships through different pricing techniques, modelling the financial impact and viability of proposed pricing arrangements and challenging key decision makers when appropriate.
  • Support Partners with client-facing engagements where needed and partner with Client Relationship Partners and the Client Development team to provide financial and commercial support, plan deployment and investment to help drive profitability.
  • Provide senior finance support on commercial improvement projects across EMEA as required.
  • Maintain a high level of visibility as a subject matter expert for pricing and commercial matters.
  • Support pricing team promotional efforts including presentations to key stakeholders to increase internal adoption and market awareness.
  • Encourage broader and better use of the Firm\'s tools to develop more profitable and consistent pricing approaches.
  • Assist in educating stakeholders involved in pricing proposals and approvals, advancing pricing as a strategic tool to build and enhance client relationships.
  • Assist Partners in developing budgets and monitoring against actual performance for matters, including more detailed project management support for complex litigation work where required.
  • Act as an advocate for adopting effective legal project management discipline where necessary.
  • Support annual review of standard rates to ensure profitability maximisation with consideration of practice mix, market realities and costs.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with other support functions (notably Business Development) to establish and maintain pricing policies and processes for transactions, bids and panel appointments.
  • Collaborate with NRF\'s Transform function to improve commercial outcomes by optimizing legal processes, people and technology.
  • Stay aware of industry pricing practices, benchmark against major competitors and monitor key trends.
  • Develop pricing models and tools for legal services and monitor profitability and implementation of those models.
  • Provide post-matter financial analysis and related pricing and business information to improve matter profitability and financial performance.
  • Collaborate on adhoc commercial and pricing initiatives as required by leadership.

Qualifications

  • Essential: A minimum of 4 years of relevant pricing experience, with legal pricing experience advantageous.

Strong commercial acumen and exceptional analytical and financial modelling skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and the ability to convey the perspective of Finance clearly.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage stakeholders during times of conflicting deliverables.
  • Strong soft skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and negotiate outcomes.
  • Strong presentation skills and experience in providing internal training.
  • Hardworking with ambition to grow professionally and to share knowledge with junior staff.
  • A collaborative team player with a transparent and straightforward approach and experience working with cross-functional teams to deliver business objectives.
  • Advantageous: Degree-level education and a deep understanding of legal products and services.
