The Team

Norton Rose Fulbright are seeking a Tax Senior Manager/Manager to undertake a mixed role across Partnership tax matters. This is an opportunity to be part of a fantastic team of tax and accounting professionals. The team is based in London and works on territories across Europe, Middle East, Asia and Australia (“EMEAPAC”) with responsibility for providing tax advisory and compliance services to the firm and assisting across all Partner tax and financial matters.Partner Affairs and Tax has a strong supportive culture with training and development at the heart our continuous improvement philosophy.

The Role

The role will report to the Head of Partner Affairs and will have involvement in partnership tax, partner tax, international tax and corporate tax issues. The role will suit someone with strong compliance and operational skills and flexibility is needed as is a ‘hands-on’ approach particularly during busy periods. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:·Preparation / review of:

  • Partnership profit sharing calculations and tax reserving calculations
  • UK Partnership tax computation
  • Corporation Tax computations for the firm’s UK corporate entities
  • Year-end tax work

¡Reconciliation of Partner Tax Reserve balances¡Involvement in the UK Tax Return Process¡Managing tax equalisation arrangements¡Involvement in international tax issues, e.g. overseas territories, double taxation relief claims, transfer pricing, withholding taxes¡Supporting local finance teams in managing local tax filings and local tax audits¡Support with Country By Country Reporting¡Dealing with ad hoc queries¡Support on advisory and project work¡Review and improvement of processes

Skills and Experience

¡Desirable qualifications include CTA (or overseas equivalent) /ATT

¡Practical experience of UK Partnership tax and working in a professional services environment

¡Must be a team player with effective communication and influencing skills

¡Self-review, discipline and intellectual curiosity

¡Strong numeric skills and attention to detail

¡Ability to plan, prioritize and manage own workload to work accurately under pressure to ensure deadlines are met.

High and focused energy levels and an adaptable approach to working on other projects

¡Strong experience in the use of Excel- INDEX MATCH, Pivot tables etc.

Skills and Experience Desirable

¡Personal Tax experience, including UK partner returns reporting profits from partnerships ¡International tax experience¡Experience of Partner tax provisioning
