The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Practice Support Executive to join Corporate Team 9 (CT9) on a 12-month fixed term contract.

We welcome applications from candidates with previous support experience who are looking to further develop their skills within a busy and collaborative professional services environment.

This role will provide direct support to five Partners while working collaboratively within the wider CT9 PSE team to deliver high-quality support to approximately 40 fee earners.

The successful candidate will build strong relationships across the team and act as a trusted point of contact for Partners, fee earners, clients, Business Development and wider Business Services functions.

This is a fast-paced and varied role requiring a confident individual who can manage competing priorities, anticipate needs and provide proactive solutions with minimal supervision or escalation.

The successful candidate will be highly organised, solutions-focused, and comfortable operating in a busy professional services environment where priorities can change quickly.

The ideal candidate will take pride in delivering exceptional support, demonstrate excellent judgement, and have the confidence to work independently whilst remaining a collaborative and supportive team player.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide proactive day-to-day support to five Partners and the wider CT9 fee-earning team.
  • Coordinate complex domestic and international travel arrangements across multiple jurisdictions, including visas, itineraries and last-minute changes.
  • Manage busy diaries, scheduling meetings across multiple time zones and resolving diary conflicts.
  • Process expenses, invoices and other administrative tasks accurately and efficiently.
  • Manage matter openings end-to-end, including conflict checks, engagement letters and ongoing matter administration.
  • Act as a professional client-facing point of contact, liaising confidently with clients, PAs and other external stakeholders.
  • Prepare, amend and proofread legal and business documents, presentations and correspondence.
  • Support complex billing processes, including reporting through Power BI, monitoring WIP, processing disbursements and responding to billing queries.
  • Assist with matter management, reporting and data tracking to support fee earners and Partners.
  • Coordinate internal and external client meetings, events and business development activities.
  • Build strong relationships with Business Services teams, including Finance, Business Development, Compliance, Document Production and Practice Support Administration.
  • Proactively identify issues, recommend solutions and drive tasks through to completion with minimal supervision.
  • Key Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Previous experience in a Practice Support Executive, administrative support or similar client-focused role within a professional services or corporate environment.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
  • Confident communicator, able to liaise directly with clients and senior stakeholders in a professional and assured manner.
  • Highly proactive and solutions-focused, with the ability to independently assess issues, identify options and implement practical solutions.
  • Excellent judgement and problem-solving skills, including the ability to review complex information, identify gaps and take appropriate action.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build trusted working relationships across all levels of the business.
  • Ability to remain calm, resilient and effective in a fast-paced and often changing environment.
