The Role

As a Purchase Ledger Specialist at Norton, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the finance function. Responsible for managing the end-to-end accounts payable process, you will ensure that supplier invoices, expenses, and payments are handled accurately and on time. Working closely with internal departments and external suppliers, you will help maintain strong financial controls, resolve queries, and support the wider finance team in delivering high-quality reporting and compliance. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and proactive individual to contribute to a growing organisation, supporting continuous improvement of processes while helping uphold the financial integrity of a globally recognised motorcycle brand.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Process supplier invoices against PO’s and ensure timely payments
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
  • Review and process employee expenses and corporate credit card statements including reconciliation
  • Maintain accurate accounts payable ledger and records
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal teams and external suppliers to resolve disputes and complex queries
  • Prepare payment runs
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities
  • Assist with internal and external audits, providing documentation and analysis as required
  • Ensure compliance with UK VAT and financial regulations
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of AP processes and controls

Personal Specification

  • Experience in accounts payable or general accounting, preferably within the automotive or manufacturing sector
  • Strong understanding of UK accounting standards and VAT regulations
  • Experience with SAP ERP system
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Team player with a positive ‘can do’ attitude coupled with a strong work ethic and commitment to quality
