The Role
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Motorcycle Designer to join our in-house design team. You will be instrumental in shaping the visual and functional identity of Norton’s future products — from complete motorcycles to accessories and the finer details of CTG/CMF (colour, trim, and graphics).
This is a rare opportunity to influence the next generation of premium British motorcycles, where your ideas will take physical form and ride on the world stage.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and develop original motorcycle designs from concept through to production
- Design motorcycle accessories and components with a focus on form, function, and brand identity
- Define and develop CTG/CMF (Colour, Trim, Graphics/Materials & Finishes) strategies that elevate product appeal and align with brand DNA
- Work collaboratively with engineering, product planning, marketing, and manufacturing teams to ensure design intent is maintained through production
- Produce high-quality sketches, CAD models, visual renders, and physical mock-ups
- Participate in design reviews, ideation workshops, and cross-functional critiques
- Keep abreast of industry trends, materials innovation, and new mobility concepts
Must-Haves
- Proven experience in Motorcycle Design, demonstrated through a strong portfolio
- Strong capability in Motorcycle Accessory Design, including panniers, windscreens, protection systems, and rider ergonomics
- Demonstrated expertise in Motorcycle CTG/CMF Design, including paint finishes, decals, textures, and tactile elements
Core Requirements
- A Creative Design degree, preferably BA (Hons) in Transport Design or equivalent
- Proficient in 2D and 3D design tools (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite, Alias, Blender, Rhino, or similar)
- Excellent sketching and visual storytelling ability
- A deep passion for motorcycles — with a solid understanding of both aesthetic and functional design considerations
- Strong collaborative mindset and the ability to communicate ideas clearly within multi-disciplinary teams
Desirable
- Hands-on experience with clay or digital sculpting
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and materials used in the motorcycle industry
- Riding experience or a motorcycle license
