The Role
Norton Motorcycles is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician (Electrical) to join our team at the Head Office in Shirley. This role requires a skilled individual with a strong background in maintaining and repairing production machinery and utilities.
As a Maintenance Technician, your primary responsibilities include ensuring maximum equipment availability, minimizing downtime through preventive and corrective maintenance, supporting production schedules, and focusing on safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of production machinery, utilities (air, water, power), and other critical equipment to ensure continuous operations.
- Conduct regular inspections to detect wear, identify potential failures, and recommend improvements.
- Follow SOPs for maintenance activities, ensuring safety and quality compliance.
- Monitor machine performance and report inefficiencies or deviations.
- Assist in controlling maintenance costs through effective spare parts and inventory management.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage.
- Adhere to health, safety, and environmental policies to promote a safe working environment.
- Collaborate on root cause analysis of breakdowns and develop preventive solutions.
Person Specification
- 1-2 years’ experience in automotive or manufacturing industries.
- Relevant qualifications such as NVQ, BTEC, or HNC in Electrical or Mechanical Maintenance.
- Experience in preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Understanding of safety and compliance regulations.
