The Role

The Design Engineer – Fit & Finish will support the design and development of key components related to bodywork, lighting, and seating on Norton Motorbikes. You will be responsible for designing parts to production standards.

This is a one-year Fixed-Term Contract supporting upcoming projects.

Responsibilities

  • Designing high-quality bodywork, lighting, and seating components for new motorcycles
  • Creating CAD models, assemblies, and technical drawings following company standards
  • Ensuring timely release of components and design changes
  • Applying DFA/DFM/DFMEA/CAE principles into design
  • Collaborating with internal teams and suppliers to ensure quality and feasibility
  • Adhering to company, departmental, and quality policies
  • Following industry standards and incorporating benchmark learning
  • Participating in engineering reviews and discussions
  • Providing technical support and occasional supplier development support

Person Specification

  • Hands-on engineering and mechanical experience
  • Pro-E or CREO experience preferred but not essential
  • Experience interpreting CAE results and applying learnings to designs
  • Understanding of motorcycle exterior components and automotive trim parts
  • Experience with materials and manufacturing processes, especially carbon fibre and injection moulding
  • Experience liaising with design consultancies and supply chain
