The Role
As Build & Test Planner, you will be supporting the Engineering Test & Development department by implementing digital tools and process automation to improve efficiency in project tracking, reporting, and resource planning. The successful Systems and Planning Specialist will be enabling Engineers to focus on testing by reducing administrative overhead and ensuring real-time visibility into department workload, resource bottlenecks, and test status.
Key Responsibilities

  • Create Power BI dashboards and Power Automate workflows to streamline project updates, test tracking, and resource planning
  • Ensure engineers can quickly generate reports and track project progress without unnecessary manual effort
  • Develop real-time department workload management tools
  • Build and maintain a real-time facilities planner that integrates both internal resources and external test houses/partners
  • Help identify resource constraints and provide data-driven insights to support budget and scheduling decisions
  • Work with engineers to develop automated reporting systems that communicate test status, workload, and risks to senior management
  • Ensure data is structured in a way that enables quick decision-making
  • Work within quality and corporate guidelines but actively push back on inefficient or overly complex processes that slow down the department
  • Support integration of parent company systems, while ensuring our team remains agile and efficient
  • Ensure the team understands and can use the tools and systems effectively
  • Provide training or coordinate training where necessary
  • Identify and escalate blockers to the Head of Department (HoD) when necessary
  • Continuously look for opportunities to improve how the department manages projects, resources, and reporting
Key Skills & Experience
  • Strong experience with Power BI, Power Automate, and data visualisation
  • Knowledge of engineering project workflows and test planning
  • Ability to develop and implement digital process improvements
  • Experience integrating internal and external resource planning
  • Excellent problem-solving skills—able to challenge inefficiencies and propose solutions
  • Strong communication skills to work closely with engineers and management
