The Role
We are looking for a time-served Testing & Development Engineer to help us grow the product range and lift the quality of the engineering and its people to new highs.
The role of Testing & Development Engineer will be to manage and oversee all testing and development elements of projects. Timely decision making and positive team leadership is key to a healthy and productive working environment. A hands-on approach and can-do attitude are essential, as is the ability to challenge mainstream thinking in a constructive and energetic way.
Reporting directly to the Chief Testing & Development Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing and delivering all testing and development projects, including both new and existing platforms.
*This is a contract for 6 months*
Key Responsibilities
- Generation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Engineering Workshop Instructions (EWI) in line with Engineering Test Procedures (ETP).
- Support in defining instrumentation hardware requirements to conduct NETP.
- Reviewing and giving feedback to support the creation of ETPs.
- Working with T&D technicians supporting instrumentation onto test vehicles, rigs and powertrains.
- Working as a conduit between T&D and other Engineer faculties to support in delivery of testing data that correlates with engineering intent.
- 3 rd party Engineering Service Provider (ESP) day-to-day management and oversight of external testing to ensure correlation with Norton Engineering intent.
- Support in the ideation of testing methodologies and work instructions to support T&D Technicians and ESPs.
- Overseeing and managing testing programs with regular reporting to the Principal T&D engineer.
- Provide support and guidance to Testing & Development Engineers.
- Acting deputy for the Principal Testing & Development Engineer if requested to do so.

- An interest and detailed understanding of fundamental motorcycle principles.
- Practical hands-on engineering and mechanical experience.
- A minimum of 8 years+of automotive/engineering background.
- Proven experience in a similar role.
- Whole vehicle understanding of Powertrain, Chassis and Electrical systems.
- Experience liaising with the supply chain.
- Be experienced in datalogging application & analysis.
- Experience working with prototype & benchmark vehicles, vehicle & component rigs.
