The Role
The Events Specialist plays a key role in supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of Norton’s events portfolio. This role requires strong event management skills, a passion for motorcycles, and an understanding of how product build maturity impacts launch phases. The Events Specialist must also bring a commercial mindset to manage budgets with a focus on ROI, the flexibility to travel and adapt to varying schedules, and the capability to deliver events internationally. Success in the role requires a process-oriented approach, close integration with legal and compliance requirements, and strong awareness of health and safety standards. All events should authentically showcase the Norton brand, engage our community, and deliver exceptional experiences aligned with Norton’s wider business goals.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Support the end-to-end planning and delivery of events, including product launches, community rides, trade shows, brand activations, and overseas events.
- Coordinate all aspects of event logistics, including venue sourcing, supplier management, AV/production, travel arrangements, catering, and scheduling.
- Manage global logistics requirements to ensure smooth international event execution, including shipping of motorcycles, parts, and equipment.
- Ensure events authentically represent and showcase the Norton brand.
- Understand the phases of product launch relative to build maturity to ensure events are planned and delivered appropriately.
- Confidently ride motorcycles at events (e.g., community rides, press events, demo days) to represent the brand and provide authentic engagement.
- Support budget management across events, balancing Capex and Opex considerations, with a focus on ROI and value delivery.
- Collaborate with internal teams (design, product, communications, and legal) to ensure brand consistency, compliance, and risk management across all events.
- Implement and follow process-driven approaches to ensure consistency, accountability, and efficiency in event delivery.
- Ensure health and safety standards are prioritised and adhered to at all stages of event planning and execution.
- Act as a key point of contact for suppliers, vendors, and participants during onsite delivery.
- Assist with post-event analysis and reporting, capturing insights and ROI measures to improve future events.
- Maintain and update event project plans, calendars, and documentation.
Skills/Experience
- 2–4 years’ experience in event planning, coordination, or production, with proven experience delivering overseas events.
- Must hold a valid motorcycle licence and be confident riding across a range of conditions.
- Strong understanding of automotive/motorcycle build phases (Concept to SOP) and ability to apply this knowledge to event planning around product launch maturity.
- Demonstrated ability to manage global logistics requirements, including customs, freight, and international supplier coordination.
- Familiarity with financial processes, including Capex vs. Opex, and proven ability to factor ROI into event budget planning and reporting.
- Knowledge of legal and compliance requirements relevant to both domestic and international events, including contracts, insurance, permits, and cross-border regulations.
- Excellent organisational skills with a process-oriented mindset and the ability to manage multiple complex events in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with event management tools (e.g., Cvent, Eventbrite, Asana, or similar) a plus.
- Basic understanding of Adobe Creative Suite to support the creation and adaptation of event materials.
- Willingness to travel and adapt working hours to meet the needs of international and domestic events.
- Understanding of health and safety protocols and ability to integrate them into event planning and execution.
