Solution Architect (Data/AI), Fully Remote, ÂŁ100,000 – ÂŁ120,000 per annum
My client are a fast-growing Data and AI consultancy working with some of the most innovative clients in the UK and EU. Their mission is to turn complex data into impactful, human centred solutions through the power of advanced AI, cloud-native platforms, and experience-led design. They work at the intersection of technology, design, and business strategy.
We are seeking a hands-on, client-facing Software/Solutions Architect who thrives in dynamic environments and excels at shaping meaningful, scalable technology solutions with clients. You’ll be instrumental in guiding the technical vision across pre-sales and delivery phases, using architectural best practices such as TOGAF, 4+1 Architectural View Models, and Domain-Driven Design (DDD). This role combines deep technical acumen with strategic consulting and user centred design, helping our clients envision and realise solutions that are robust, scalable, and aligned with their business goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the technical design authority across pre-sales, discovery, and delivery phases of client engagements.
- Collaborate directly with clients to understand their business, data, and technology contexts, translating them into architecture blueprints and solution strategies.
- Apply architectural methodologies (e.g., TOGAF, 4+1 View, DDD) to design scalable, maintainable, and secure systems.
- Lead envisioning workshops with a focus on experience-led design and user journey mapping to drive solution outcomes.
- Work with cross-functional teams (UX, data science, engineering, DevOps) to translate architectural decisions into hands-on implementation plans.
- Support the sales team during pre-sales, including proposal development, high-level design, effort estimation, and PoC leadership.
- Stay hands-on with modern engineering practices, contributing to code reviews, prototyping, and technical validations when needed. Serve as a trusted technical advisor to clients and internal stakeholders.
Skills & Experience Required
Must-Have:
- Proven experience in a Software/Solutions Architect role with a strong hands-on engineering background.
- Excellent client engagement skills with the ability to lead technical discovery sessions, workshops, and presentations.
- Deep understanding of architectural frameworks like TOGAF, 4+1, and Domain-Driven Design.
- Strong understanding of Experience-led and UX-first design principles.
- Proficiency in Python and cloud-native platforms, especially Microsoft Azure.
- Familiarity with modern software engineering practices such as CI/CD, microservices, event-driven architecture, containers (Docker/K8s), and serverless computing.
- Ability to work independently, remotely, and travel to client sites across the UK/EU when necessary.
Nice-to-Have:
- Experience in the Data & AI domain, including data platforms, MLOps, or analytics workloads. Exposure to design thinking, service blueprints, or other design facilitation methods.
- TOGAF certification or equivalent experience.
