We are seeking an experienced SAP HCM Consultant with deep expertise in UK Payroll to join our team for a business-critical 6–9 month contract. Based in Canary Wharf with highly flexible hybrid working, you will take ownership of end-to-end payroll processing, complex configurations, day-to-day support, and statutory compliance within the SAP HCM module. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical expert who can confidently navigate payroll schemas and PCRs while effectively collaborating with business stakeholders and technical teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Configuration & Implementation: Lead the design, configuration, and implementation of SAP HCM modules, with a primary focus on the SAP UK Payroll engine.
  • Payroll Cycle Management: Manage end-to-end payroll cycles, including complex schema and PCR configuration, RT (Results Table), and general payroll architecture.
  • Statutory Compliance: Ensure strict alignment with all UK statutory requirements, including HMRC, RTI, FPS, EPS, Tax, NI, Pensions, Court Orders, and crucial Year-End activities.
  • Support & Enhancements: Own daily operations by troubleshooting support tickets, resolving system bugs, and delivering continuous improvement enhancements.
  • Lifecycle Delivery: Participate in stakeholder requirements gathering, fit-gap analysis, technical solution design, and rigorous testing cycles (Unit, SIT, UAT).
  • Technical Collaboration: Prepare detailed functional specifications for custom developments and work closely with ABAP developers to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Integration & Documentation: Support integration points with other modules (e.g., FI, Time Management, and SuccessFactors where applicable) while providing clear documentation and training to business users.

What We Are Looking For

  • Proven track record as a dedicated SAP HCM & UK Payroll Consultant.
  • Deep, hands-on technical knowledge of UK Payroll configuration, specifically schemas, PCRs, and wage types.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of UK statutory legislation and HMRC compliance.
  • Strong experience bridge-building between business needs and technical delivery (writing functional specs, working with ABAP).
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage stakeholders and provide seamless knowledge transfers.
