My client, a leading digital consultancy, is currently looking to hire a .Net/Azure Developer to join one of their prestigious clients on a 6 month initial contract.

Location: London, you will have to be in the office 1 or 2 days/week and willing to travel to client location as well when needed.

About the Role: We're looking for a Senior Backend Developer to join our platform team, building and maintaining cloud-native .NET services that power our e-commerce and content platform. You'll work across a range of microservices and CMS-based web applications, collaborating closely with the broader engineering team, with occasional visibility into our Python-based core backend if cross-system debugging is required.

What You’ll Do:

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using .NET
  • Work extensively with our Azure ecosystem - including Azure Functions, Cosmos DB, Service Bus, and Event Hub - to build event-driven, cloud-native microservices
  • Contribute to CMS-backed web applications
  • Collaborate with the wider team on infrastructure, deployment, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Troubleshoot end-to-end issues across our .NET services, sometimes referencing our Python-based core backend when debugging cross-system issues

What We’re Looking For:

  • Strong professional experience with C# / .NET backend development
  • Solid, hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure - particularly Azure Functions, Cosmos DB, Service Bus, and Event Hub
  • Experience with a CMS platform (e.g. Umbraco)
  • Experience with microservices and event-driven architecture patterns
  • Experience integrating with payment gateways (Adyen experience a plus)
  • Comfort working across multiple services/repos in a larger distributed system
  • Basic knowledge of Python (able to read to debug, not required to fix/build in it)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code is a plus
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently at a senior level
