Overview

We are looking for an experienced Cognite Data Fusion (CDF) Platform Engineer to support the design, build, and evolution of a cloud‑native data and AI platform. This role sits at the intersection of data engineering, knowledge graph modelling, and AI enablement, with Cognite as the core platform. You will work closely with engineers, product teams, and domain experts to model complex data, integrate multiple sources, and enable downstream analytics and AI/agent‑based use cases. This is a hands‑on contract role requiring strong Cognite experience and the ability to operate in a hybrid, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain solutions on Cognite Data Fusion, using Python / JS / .NET SDKs.
  • Develop and manage data models, spaces, and views, leveraging Cognite's knowledge graph to represent complex domains.
  • Integrate data from multiple source systems into Cognite, building reliable data ingestion pipelines and workflows.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business and domain requirements into scalable data and platform designs.
  • Support AI and agent‑based architectures, enabling AI systems to query and reason over Cognite knowledge graphs.
  • Contribute to cloud architecture decisions, ensuring secure, scalable, and cost‑effective solutions.
  • Apply strong software engineering practices, including version control, testing, CI/CD, and documentation.
  • Support ongoing platform improvements, troubleshooting, and optimisation.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Hands‑on experience with Cognite Data Fusion in a production environment.
  • Strong experience using Cognite SDKs (Python preferred; JS/.NET beneficial).
  • Proven background in data modelling, including: Spaces, Views, Knowledge graphs / semantic models.
  • Experience building data integrations and workflows across complex systems.
  • Solid understanding of cloud‑native architectures (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals, not just configuration‑based data work.
  • Ability to work closely with non‑technical stakeholders and domain experts.

Nice to Have

  • Experience enabling AI, LLM, or agent‑based solutions using knowledge graphs or RAG‑style architectures.
  • Background in industrial, energy, manufacturing, or asset‑heavy domains.
  • Prior experience in consulting or platform delivery roles.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and automated deployments.

Working Pattern

  • Hybrid role: 2-3 days per week onsite in Central London
  • Remaining days remote
  • Collaborative, cross‑functional team environment

Why This Role

  • Work on a cutting‑edge data and AI platform with real business impact.
  • High level of ownership and influence over platform design.
  • Contract flexibility with a long‑term roadmap.
  • Exposure to advanced Cognite, knowledge graph, and AI use cases.
