We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Data Modeller / Modeler with strong hands-on expertise in BigQuery, DBT, and Data Vault 2.0 to design and implement scalable enterprise data models on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

This role requires someone who can independently design, implement and optimise Data Vault models within DBT, ensuring robust, scalable, and high-performing data structures to support analytics and business-critical reporting.

You will work closely with Data Engineers, Architects and Analytics teams to ensure models are both technically strong and aligned to business needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement enterprise-scale data models in BigQuery
  • Build and implement Data Vault 2.0 models using DBT (Hubs, Links, Satellites)
  • Define and enforce data modelling standards, patterns and governance frameworks
  • Translate business requirements into scalable logical and physical models
  • Optimise BigQuery performance, partitioning and cost efficiency
  • Ensure strong data lineage, traceability and auditability
  • Support architecture decisions across the data lifecycle
  • Collaborate closely with engineering and analytics teams
  • Mentor teams on best practice enterprise modelling approaches
Must Have Experience
  • Strong hands-on experience with BigQuery in production environments
  • Proven experience implementing Data Vault 2.0 models (not just theoretical knowledge)
  • Strong experience using DBT to build and manage transformations
  • Ability to design and optimise enterprise-scale data models
  • Advanced SQL skills, including performance tuning and optimisation
  • Strong understanding of data lineage, governance and modelling standards
