Job Description

Are you an experienced Multi-Skilled Engineer looking to join a leading UK manufacturer based on Stafford Park, Telford?

We are a group of associated companies that provide the manufacturing, supply and transportation of paper hygiene and wiping products for both the commercial and consumer market, and are on the look out for a permanent experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our Engineering team.

As a Multi-Skilled Engineer you will be working a 4 on 4 off shift pattern in a high tempo engineering environment, rotating 06:00/18:00 – 18:00/06:00.

About the Role

Reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader you will ensure that the facilities, equipment and machinery is effectively and efficiently maintained in a safe and cost-effective manner. The main responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 procedures to promote process stability and capability.
  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice maintenance strategy, systems, processes and procedures to improve equipment reliability.
  • Identify equipment issues and advise on work needed and opportunities for improvement.
  • Trouble shoots equipment/process problems to root cause in conjunction with team members to ensure rapid resolution of problems and ensure team members learn from the experience.
  • Involved in carrying out Criticality/Obsolescence assessments and implementing action plans

Requirements

Essential

  • Minimum 5 year’s experience working as a multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer.
  • Minimum NVQ Level 3 qualified in both mechanical and electrical multi-skilled disciplines.
  • Highly developed fault finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in PLC fault finding and diagnostics.
  • Ability to read complex electrical and engineering drawings.

 Desirable

  • HND/Degree qualified Electrical Engineer
  • Good IT skills – MS Office
  • Able to understand and change ladder logic.
  • Able to write PLC programs.
  • Experience in software / hardware integration
