We are seeking an assistant Mill Operator to join our team. You will assist with high-speed converting lines and Rewinder, ensuring efficient operation with minimal wastage and in accordance with customer specifications. If you have factory or manufacturing experience and can operate a forklift truck, we want to hear from you! This role initially is dayshift, 8am – 4:30pm, transitioning to shifts of 2 days, 2 nights, then 4 days off after training. Job Responsibilities Operate, assist, monitor, or direct the Packaging Line to resolve issues. Understand the entire Packaging process, including loading/unloading reels. Assist the converting line to optimize results. Operate, assist, monitor, or direct the Core Making Line. Perform safety checks and record results accurately. Complete safety and housekeeping duties. Safely wrap, unwrap, weigh, stack, move, load, and unload wagons. Provide cover for Warehouse Operators as needed. Understand warehouse procedures. Candidate Requirements Forklift truck experience Right to work in the UK Able to commute within 1 hour Experience in a factory or manufacturing environment NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in maths, English, and IT Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office About Northwood Northwood is a family-owned manufacturer and supplier of paper hygiene and wiping products, operating across the UK, Ireland, and Europe.
