3-shift rotations (40 hours per week): Shift rotations (not necessarily in this order): Days (06:00 to 14:00); Afternoons (14:00 to 22:00); and Nights (22:00 to 06:00). As most of our shifts are Monday to Friday, youβll have the majority of your weekends off! Night shifts will commence on Sundays at 22:00 and will end on Fridays at 06:00.
How you will add value to Northwood:
- Bringing a reactive and proactive approach to multiskilled maintenance of operational equipment and site facilities, maintaining and improving equipment reliability and efficiency.
Your day to day:
- Ensuring all PPMs are carried out safely, cost effectively, in a timely manner, and to a high standard.
- Ensuring optimal running of our mechanical and electrical equipment to ensure that agreed SLAs and KPIs are met.
- Troubleshooting electrical and mechanical machinery issues, conducting RCA and implementing long-term solutions and prevention, demonstrating best practice.
- Responding to and addressing reactive maintenance requests in a timely manner.
- Following engineering/maintenance processes and standards thoroughly, ensuring adherence to Safety, Quality, and Environmental protocol.
- PLC interrogation/electrical fault finding.
- Managing spare parts, conducting criticality and obsolescence assessments.
- Utilising process improvement tools such as 5S, TPM, and Kaizen, supporting our CI.
Job Requirements
What we need from you:
- Demonstrable competence as a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer or Technician, with a Mechanical bias (70/30 or 80/20).
- Experience as a Multiskilled or Mechanical Engineer in the Printing, Packaging, Paper Converting, or FMCG industries, ideally with experience in reel-to-reel winding/conversion.
- Experience in electrical maintenance and PLCs (including interrogation and fault finding), and ideally, experience with drives and inverters.
- A proactive approach to equipment efficiency and reliability, and responsive approach to ad hoc requests.
- Level 3+ Electrical qualification (ideally obtained through an apprenticeship).
