Hiring Full Time and Part Time Continuing Care Assistants (CCA) - Homecare
Do you love working independently from the comfort of your vehicle, being able to see the beautiful scenery that HRM has to offer, managing your schedule and have a passion for taking care of clients in their homes?
Then we have just the job for you!
At Northwood, our team of home supper workers and CCAs provide service and safekeeping to clients in their homes; we are currently hiring full time & part time employees for various areas in HRM.
What We Offer
• Hiring Incentives may be available!
- Shift premiums and a guarantee of 80 hrs bi-weekly.
- Paid kilometers - 0.58 cents
- Unionized position
- Complete orientation provided
- Pension and benefits package
- Vacation entitlements
• Only work every third weekend!
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care (e. g., bathing, dressing, grooming)
- Perform light housekeeping duties
- Meal preparation
- Provide respite for families and care givers
- Documentation (e. g., reporting client concerns, progress notes, incident reports)
- Completes other tasks as required
Qualifications
- Valid Driver’s license and reliable vehicle required
- International Students in Canada with a Nursing degree can apply
- Nursing/LPN students currently enrolled in a program can apply.
- Students of Continuing Care Assistant Program (CCA) who are about to complete the program can apply.
- Interested applicants must have a Continuing Care Assistant Provincial Certificate/PSW, be a recent graduate of a CCA program, or be a current PLAR candidate
- An Internationally Educated Nurse (IEN) who is registered with the National Nursing Assessment Service (NNAS) or the College of Nurses Ontario (CNO) actively pursuing license as a LPN or RN or registration with the CCA Program pursuing CCA Certification.
Northwood has dedicated resources who can provide information on the above processes.
- Completion of Standard First Aid and CPR C
- Alzheimer/ Dementia care course
- Availability to work days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays
- Previous related experience preferred
- Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational and clinical skills
- Able to maintain regular and consistent attendance.
