Primary Responsibilities:
  • Install in-ground and container colour displays in accordance with specifications and quality standards, changing plantings seasonally (three times a year).
  • Perform post-installation clean-up.
  • Clipping, shaping, and pruning exterior plants to remove unsightly or dead spots.
  • Watering and fertilising.
  • Monitoring for pests and treating when applicable.
  • Cleaning of plant containers and surrounding areas after each service.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • At least one year of commercial landscape or nursery experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of annuals, perennials, and regional ornamental plants, and approved horticultural and landscape management practices.
  • Ability to safely operate commercial landscape equipment and tools.
  • Working knowledge of proper pruning techniques while taking into account the plant material and season.
  • Working knowledge of herbicide applications and relevant practices.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective communication with clients, co-workers, and supervisor.
  • Ability to frequently pull, push, and lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to frequently work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Regular, on-time attendance.
  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred.
