Northwest Ambulance Paramedics are expected to provide the highest level of patient care and excellent customer service to partnered facility staff. The Paramedic is responsible for supervising patient care, treatment, and assessment during transport. Duties include:
- Providing excellent patient care
- Safe lifting and transferring of patients
- Operating emergency vehicles safely
- Adhering to company policies
- Completing documentation
- Responding to dispatch instructions
- Maintaining safety standards
- Participating in continuing education
- Keeping vehicles and stations clean
- Maintaining equipment and supplies
- Communicating effectively
- Maintaining strict confidentiality
Responsibilities include:
- Treating and transporting patients from the field or healthcare facilities to a higher level of care
- Utilising equipment such as IV Pumps, ICU ventilators, cardiac monitors, and additional advanced equipment
- Performing duties as a paramedic including intubation, administration of paralytics, surgical airway, needle thoracostomy, orogastric tube placement, intravenous and intraosseous access
- Working alongside crew members of varying levels of experience
- Following the policies and procedures of NWA and County Medical Protocols
- Completing dispatched assignments efficiently
- Being punctual and attentive
- Providing appropriate documentation in accordance with company policies
- Assessing risks to patient safety
- Operating the ambulance safely
- Coordinating with dispatchers and management
- Acting with integrity and support for the company
- Maintaining a professional appearance and high uniform standards
- Cleaning, organising, and restocking ambulances during each shift

Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting in a vehicle and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
- Ability to bend and stoop, sit and stand for extended periods
- Good manual dexterity
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least three years of related experience preferred
- Current NREMT-P, current out of state Paramedic certification, or WA State Paramedic certification
- PHTLS, PALS, ACLS certifications required
- CCP-C or FP-C preferred
Must Have's:
- Active driver's license - must have maintained for 2 years or longer
- Clean driving record - limit of 2 citations in past 36 months
- Must be 18 years or older

Wages:
Our wage range is $38.76 to $44.95 per hour for 12-hour shifts. You will receive a sign-on bonus of $10,000, subject to all taxes and withholdings, payable in one installment after reaching the required minimum hours and your employment being in good standing.
