We are currently recruiting for Class 1 HGV Drivers to be part of the double-manned night shift trunking team, based at our busy Cumbernauld depot.
About the role:
Our Class 1 HGV Drivers play a key role in the supply chain across Scotland. We support a broad customer base and transport various cargo such as plant and equipment, temperature-controlled goods and hazardous waste. Reporting to the Depot Manager, our Class 1 HGV Drivers are predominantly responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of customer freight and trailers throughout Scotland.
- Night trunking between the Cumbernauld depot and distribution centres.
- Making up a double-manned team with a co-driver to undertake double-manned driving.
- Ensuring the safe loading, securing and unloading of freight.
- Completing collection and delivery paperwork and following company procedures.
- Liaising with colleagues at the Transport Office to coordinate the movement of freight and trailers to locations within Scotland.
- Adhering to road and driving regulations.
- Conducting daily vehicle and trailer checks, ensuring that any defects found are reported accordingly.
Where applicable, opportunities for overtime may be available.
Key requirements:
- Valid Class 1 (C+E) HGV Driving Licence
- Up to date Driver’s CPC (Driver Certificate of Professional Competence)
- Comfortable with working night shifts and double-manning
