About the role
If you're interested in your development, we have some great opportunities. We are looking to recruit a Wastewater Process Technician to work within our Wastewater Treatment team.
You'll join the team that are responsible for operating and maintaining our Wastewater service to our customers in various locations across the Northumbrian region. You'll be providing a wastewater treatment service that protects and enhances the environment, whilst also improving the quality of rivers and coastal waters for the benefit of the people and wildlife.
AMP8 is our largest investment program yet and will drive real, lasting improvements for our customers, our communities, and the environment. We have an exciting multi-year program of major investment planned, to increase resilience in our wastewater services, whilst enhancing and protecting our environment.
Working as part of a team you will be responsible for supporting the AMP 8 delivery model. The role will include collecting site data and information, together with providing some hands-on experience about how our existing assets really work and perform. You will be responsible for providing full onsite checks to verify data quality, accuracy, and robustness of capital project assumptions. Within this role you will conduct tasks in all conditions to ensure these assets operate correctly and will undertake fault-finding investigations when issues are found. Full training will be provided to undertake the various technical aspects of this role.
About you
Our Wastewater Process Technicians carry out regular analysis of effluent quality and volume, so we are looking for people who are confident with interrogating and interpreting data. No two days are the same – you will be someone who is happy working in a team or alone with minimal supervision and flexible enough to meet a varied workload, but we'll be providing you with full training to get you up to speed with our processes.
This is an excellent development opportunity for someone who enjoys taking the initiative and is willing and open to learning. It will enable you to influence and shape our capital program and will increase your technical knowledge of how our asset base is operated and maintained. This role will allow you to build up your internal and external network, particularly working with Capital Delivery and Integrated Delivery Services.
You'll be highly motivated, demonstrating flexibility with excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work efficiently both alone and with others. We're looking for you to be able to understand, analyse and interpret data to resolve problems and identify solutions to resolve issues and optimise plant, assets, and processes.
A full valid UK manual driving licence is essential.
We're open to candidates from other backgrounds that can bring new ways of working and thinking to our business. We're interested in candidates with transferrable knowledge and skillsets from other sectors, with a willingness and capability to learn.
We offer flexible and hybrid working arrangements, balancing working from home, in offices spread across our operating regions. We welcome applications from those returning from career breaks and job sharing and/or part time contracts will also be considered.
