About the role
We’re excited to announce two opportunities to join us as Technical Advisors within our Wastewater, Quality and Compliance team. This is a chance to play a key role in the essential compliance work we deliver across the business. In this role, you’ll support our compliance monitoring, environmental reporting and permitting activities, helping us meet the increasing requirements around flow and quality at our sewage treatment works, storm overflows and pumping stations. You’ll also contribute to the delivery of technical projects designed to enhance asset performance and strengthen our monitoring capabilities. As a Technical Advisor, you’ll be a trusted source of expertise on wastewater compliance, providing insight and support to colleagues across NWG. You’ll work closely with operations and other departments, managing and delivering technical projects while offering specialist guidance that helps us continue to protect the environment and meet our regulatory commitments.
About you
We’re looking for individuals who can communicate clearly and confidently, building strong relationships and influencing a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. You’ll bring excellent data‑handling skills and a solid understanding of scientific principles, particularly around wastewater treatment processes or permitting. Strong problem‑solving ability and a curious, investigative approach will help you assess technical information, interpret complex datasets and draw accurate, insightful conclusions. An understanding of the regulatory drivers that shape the water industry and how these influence the operation and management of our assets is essential. You’ll be educated to degree level or hold an equivalent qualification in a scientific discipline, and you’ll be comfortable managing, analysing and presenting data. Intermediate Excel skills are required, and because this role involves regular travel across our sites, a full, valid UK driving licence is essential.
