We have an exciting opportunity to join our Estates team as a Property Specialist, supporting the effective day-to-day and strategic management of NWG’s diverse property portfolio. You’ll work alongside an experienced team who will support your transition into the role.
Responsibilities
- Acting as the first point of contact for all tenant enquiries and lease-related matters, you will be responsible for coordinating maintenance, refurbishments, and ensuring compliance with health and safety, building regulations, and statutory requirements.
- You will also support compliance activities including gas safety, electrical testing, EPCs, and insurance validations.
- This role involves coordinating external contractors, surveyors, and property management partners to deliver efficient and professional estate services.
- You will be responsible for maintaining accurate property records, ensuring rent and maintenance schedules are up to date, and tracking financial performance.
- You will play a key role in lease and rent reviews, working closely with the Senior Property Surveyor, and support legal documentation and contract compliance.
- In addition, you will collaborate with our finance and legal teams to ensure that rent collection, void property costs, and business rates liabilities are properly managed and optimised.
- Reporting is a vital part of this role—you will produce and deliver regular management reports on property performance, occupancy, rent collection, maintenance expenditure, and asset improvements. These reports help shape future estate strategy and investment decisions.
About you
If you have experience in property management across residential, commercial, and leisure leases, we would love to hear from you. You will bring strong knowledge of landlord and tenant legislation, property law principles, lease obligations, and rent collection processes. A background working with finance and legal professionals—particularly in relation to service charge recoveries, business rates, void property management, and lease compliance—will be highly valued.
Your strengths will include excellent organisation and stakeholder engagement skills, allowing you to juggle multiple maintenance and refurbishment projects while keeping all parties informed. A problem-solving mindset and strong customer service focus will help you manage tenant relationships effectively, particularly in the context of repairs, disputes, or renewals. Experience with digital property management systems and reporting tools is desirable—but don’t worry if you’re not an expert; training will be provided to the successful candidate.
