About the role

This is a rare opportunity to shape a capability that will be central to how we plan, finance and grow the business for years to come. As Corporate Finance Manager, you'll report directly to the Group Treasurer and take ownership of the Group's strategic corporate model, a key tool used to support long-term planning, shareholder value assessments, financing decisions, regulatory strategy and financial resilience. You'll sit at the intersection of treasury, regulation, finance and corporate strategy, helping to inform some of the most important decisions facing the business.

You'll lead the ongoing development and enhancement of the Group's corporate model, ensuring it remains robust, flexible and fit for purpose for executive decision-making, shareholder discussions and future regulatory challenges. You'll also provide insight and analysis that supports our Executive Leadership Team, Board Committees, shareholders and credit rating agencies.

The role offers significant variety and exposure. You'll provide specialist corporate finance support across the business, assess commercial and investment opportunities, contribute to regulatory finance strategy and help prepare the analysis underpinning our long-term viability and resilience assessments. You'll also work closely with the Assistant Group Treasurer and Treasury Operations Manager on rating agency engagement, liquidity planning and broader treasury initiatives.

You'll become a trusted adviser to senior stakeholders, regularly presenting insights and recommendations to the CFO, Finance Leadership Team and shareholders, while helping to strengthen NWG's corporate and regulatory finance capabilities ahead of PR29 and AMP9. So, if you're looking for a role where you can combine financial modelling, strategic thinking and corporate finance expertise to influence major business decisions, this could be the perfect next step.

About You

We are looking for someone with strong corporate finance and financial modelling expertise who enjoys solving complex problems, influencing decisions and working with senior stakeholders. You must be a motivated and proactive self-starter with excellent analytical skills, strong commercial judgement and the confidence to communicate complex topics clearly and effectively.

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in corporate finance, financial modelling, investment appraisal or related financial roles.
  • Demonstrable experience building, maintaining or leading complex corporate, infrastructure or strategic financial models.
  • Strong Excel and financial modelling skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Experience presenting analysis and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • The ability to translate complex financial information into clear and actionable insights.
  • Strong commercial awareness and an interest in long-term business strategy.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience within regulated utilities, infrastructure, capital-intensive businesses or regulatory finance would be advantageous, as would exposure to shareholders, investors or credit rating agencies.

We value experience and capability above formal qualifications, but you may hold qualifications in finance, accounting, economics, mathematics or a related discipline, together with professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CFA or ACT. We understand the right candidate might not tick every box, so if this role excites you, we'd still love to hear from you.
