About the role

Job Title – Business Analyst (1)

Full Time

Permanent

Salary – up to £58,600

Location – Flexible with some presence in Pity Me, Durham

We are excited to offer two fantastic opportunities to join our Information Services Product Management Team as a Business Analyst either within the Governance, Risk and Compliance Product Team or the Corporate Product Team.

In this role, you\’ll work closely with the Product Manager to support the development of technology roadmaps that are critical to a range of business areas, including Scientific Services, Health and Safety, Business Continuity, Strategic Asset Planning and Corporate functions.

You will collaborate with our business stakeholders to identify, develop and support business change initiatives, validating and communicating the associated benefits. You will also play a key role in spotting opportunities for improvement, understanding the technologies within our IS strategy, and helping implement solutions that enhance productivity and streamline processes.

You will be expected to be a key player within the continuous improvement culture we have in our Product Team and work with your colleagues, the BA Community of Practice, and the wider organisation to embed improvements to our working practices.

Additionally, the role may involve supporting the creation of tender documentation and evaluating supplier responses.

You will also be required to comply with Companywide and IS Quality, Environmental and Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.

About you

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who can take ownership of business opportunities.

You will have proven Business Analyst experience in defining requirements for complex products (in both Agile and Waterfall delivery) in a fast-paced environment. You will have experience of working with both internal/external customers and external suppliers.

You will have an extensive proven record of stakeholder management to senior management level and be able to understand complex technical concepts and present them in simple terms to non-technical colleagues using your excellent communication skills.

You must have the ability to self-manage workloads and be self-motivated to acquire new skills via both structured and self-learning.

You will be required to actively listen to others to understand their thoughts, feelings and needs. You will be curious about others\’ perspectives and circumstances, always showing respect to build strong relationships with key stakeholders.
