About the role

We have a great opportunity to join our Water Supply team as a Water Supply Process Operator, ensuring we deliver great high-quality drinking water for our customers.

The successful candidate will be based at Horsley Water Treatment Works.

This role offers full training to support the successful candidate to complete the various technical aspects of this role. This means we’re seeking someone with transferrable skills which would allow them to develop into this position.

We understand the importance of professional development which means we offer opportunities for training and growth within the organisation.

You will operate the treatment process using company systems to identify trends in performance and when issues arise you will undertake fault-finding investigations.

You’ll be using laboratory testing and recording results for regulatory auditing and to support decision making. Working with chemicals and validating and calibrating instruments will be key to your role in effectively operating the treatment process.

You will support process unit cleaning, site general maintenance and cleaning tasks. This includes cleaning tanks to remove waste material.

About you

Communication is essential in this role therefore we seek someone who is an excellent communicator, both verbally and written. You will be a good problem-solver allowing you to respond quickly to issues, understand the problem, and identify the best solution.

We are looking for a team player who is adaptable to meet a varied workload and someone who is also comfortable working alone and outdoors with minimal supervision.

You may have experience operating production processes including various mechanical and electrical equipment. This may include experience of using instrumentation to validate and calibrate a process is desirable but not essential.
