Northumbria Sport are recruiting a full-time Sport Assistant who will be responsible for the daily operation of the building and perform a variety of customer-facing roles within Sport Central. The facility has both wet and dry based activities and is situated on City Campus. The Sport Assistant is responsible for delivering a welcoming, safe and outstanding experience for our customers. This role requires direct customer-facing services and operational roles as needed.

Reporting directly to the Duty Manager, the role will join Northumbria Sport, a core department within Campus Services. Northumbria Sport is responsible for delivering an excellent student experience through our range of sport, fitness and wellbeing programmes. The role will be based at Sport Central, but working at Coach Lane Sports Ground may be required.

To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • Good understanding of Customer Service Experience requirements
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • The initiative to solve problems of a practical nature
