About the Role
Northumbria Police are looking for a cleaner to support the Business Services Department, working behind the scenes in our operational police station. You will keep our stations clean, safe and functional, participating in a busy, rewarding role.
Responsibilities
- Use specialist equipment and chemicals to clean washrooms and kitchens.
- Vacuum and mop floors.
- Operate floor machines such as floor scrubbers and dryers.
- Empty bins and perform other general cleaning duties.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of health and safety legislation and comply with cleaning safety standards.
- Work at height when required.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years resident in the UK for vetting.
- Reasonable fitness level and ability to work at height.
- Willingness to learn, punctual, reliable and able to work alone or as part of a team.
- Acceptable fitness to undergo vetting and medical checks.

Application Process
Successful applicants will be asked to complete a Recruitment Vetting (RV) form. You must be a resident of the UK for a minimum period of 3 years to ensure vetting checks can be completed. A job offer will be dependent upon vetting clearance and medical information.
