Salary: Band 7, £32,874 – £35,772 (Please note it is Northumbria Police policy to appoint at the beginning of the band)

Location: Agile, Forth Banks Police Station and homeworking

Hours/Contract: 37 hours per week, permanent

This could be the perfect time for you to join us in our Digital Department as a Resource Planner. The Resource Planner is responsible for effectively allocating and optimising Digital Policing resources to support efficient project delivery and strong performance outcomes. The role includes forecasting resource requirements, coordinating scheduling, and working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure resource availability aligns with project deliverables and the wider objectives of the Force.

What you’ll do:

  • Act as the first point of contact for all resource management enquiries relating to Digital Policing.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with the Force Transformation and Digital Policing leadership teams to support collaboration and strategic alignment.
  • Establish and maintain resource pools, categorised by skill sets, to enable effective allocation and workforce planning.
  • Monitor resource utilisation and proactively adjust plans to meet changing priorities and operational demands.
  • Forecast future resource requirements based on project timelines, strategic priorities, and organisational objectives.
  • Allocate and schedule resources to ensure the timely delivery of projects and operational activities.

What you’ll bring:

  • Monitor and analyse information, reporting on progress, slippage, inter and intra dependencies, and highlighting key risks and opportunities.
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Business Productivity applications, including SharePoint, MS Project, and Excel, with the capability to automate project delivery artefacts using project management tools.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage and prioritise resources to ensure optimal efficiency.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong customer, supplier, and stakeholder engagement skills, with experience working effectively both within and outside of Northumbria Police.

Terms of appointment: This is a permanent role subject to a six-month probationary period. If you are successful in your application, you will have a six-month probation period with us where you will be unable to apply for any other post advertised internally or externally.
