Base pay range

Salary: Up to £47,712 dependent on experience

Location: Agile, Forth Banks Police Station and homeworking

Hours/Contract: 37 hours per week, 12 month fixed term / secondment contract

Overview

This could be the perfect time for you to join us in our Digital Policing Department as a Power Platform Developer. You will provide development capability relative to front and back-end solutions including integration, application and mobile platform components that will enable you to play a key role in the continual development of all in-house and partner developed Power Platform based solutions enabling successful outcomes against strategic priorities and objectives.

You will have some experience of developing against, or working with enterprise grade software solutions, ideally through continual development methodologies. Working collaboratively as an integral part of a supportive agile development team, you will be driven by success and will have ambition to enable your own development. You will be coached by the Senior Power Platform developer and peers within the team to help you develop the essential skills and competencies required to allow you to excel in this field.

What you’ll do

  • You will be part of a team that designs, develops and implements new Force systems; and develops and drives forward new enhancements to existing systems to drive efficiencies and effect improvements.
  • You will provide a pivotal resource against the continual development of business, legislative, political and wider criminal justice driven changes assisting to achieve overall Force strategic objectives.
  • Work with guidance to ensure new and ongoing development across the integration and application landscapes meets agreed timescales and quality measures.
  • You will collaborate, engage and build positive relationships with customers, clients, stakeholders and partners to understand their needs, priorities and how technology can support the realisation of these needs.
  • Provide support to the Senior Power Platform developer to impact assess vendor roadmap changes and establish the relevant work packages to mitigate any associated risks.

What you’ll bring

  • You will have knowledge and expertise of developing with the Microsoft Power Platform, utilising Canvas and Model Driven Power Apps, Power Automate and a working knowledge of Power BI to provide integrated line of business applications.
  • You should have an understanding of differing enterprise data structures including SharePoint Online, Microsoft SQL and Microsoft Dataverse.
  • You will be familiar with using Solutions, Environment Variables, and Connection References to support scalable and maintainable application development.
  • You will have experience integrating Power Automate with RESTful APIs to connect with external systems.
  • You will have proven analytical and problem-solving abilities and be able to translate customer requirements into work packages.
  • You will show a drive and ambition for continuous development with a strong customer service ethos.
  • You will have some experience of working with Microsoft Azure services to complement Power Platform solutions.
  • You will have some understanding of Power Platform environment administration, including managing environments, permissions and use of COE Toolkit.
  • You will have some knowledge of DevOps practices, including the use of YAML pipelines for automated deployments and CI/CD workflows.
