Location: Forth Banks Police Station
Hours: 10 hours per week, 06:00 – 08:00, Monday – Friday.

Our Business Services team ensures smooth operations at Northumbria Police, including maintenance, health and safety, and supporting frontline policing. We have an opportunity for a Cleaner to help keep our stations clean, safe, and functional.
Unlike typical cleaning roles, you’ll work behind the scenes in our police station. You’ll take pride in your work and be part of a dedicated team. It’s a busy role with a great sense of achievement.
What will I be doing?
- Using specialist equipment and chemicals to clean washrooms and kitchens
- Vacuuming and mopping floors
- Use of floor machines such as scrubbers and dryers
- Emptying bins and general cleaning duties
- Maintaining knowledge of health and safety legislation and standards
- This role requires physical effort and working at height
We seek someone who takes pride in their work, is willing to learn, can work alone and in a team, and is punctual and reliable. No previous cleaning experience is necessary.

Additional Information

Northumbria Police is a Real Living Wage employer. If your hourly pay does not meet this, an additional payment will be made.
Terms of appointment:
If hired, you will undergo a 6-month probation period, during which you cannot apply for other posts internally or externally.
