The department is a vital hub, supporting procurement, storage, and distribution of equipment, uniforms, and personal protective gear for officers and staff.
The role, based at Pelaw Stores & Logistics, involves maintaining high‑quality service delivery, professional standards, and staff wellbeing while overseeing warehouse operations, stock control, and logistics coordination.
Responsibilities
- Manage staff deployment across multifunctional areas to meet customer and service delivery standards.
- Ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements and quality checks, and problem‑solve to enhance efficiency.
- Plan and support individual and team development through regular 1:1s and performance monitoring, addressing training needs cost‑effectively.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with managers and staff, resolving service delivery and resource allocation issues.
- Oversee day‑to‑day staff management: work allocation, performance, attendance, disciplinary issues, and recruitment, while addressing welfare and wellbeing concerns.
- Schedule and complete health and safety inspections, building checks, and maintenance tasks, ensuring compliance with legislation and liaising with Estates and contractors.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within a large, complex organisation.
- Strong planning, organisational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Experience managing people issues including performance, attendance, and disciplinary matters.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and report writing.
- Professional and proactive customer service approach.
- Desirable: Experience working in a warehouse setting with knowledge of stock control and logistics operations.
- Driving may be required depending on geographic responsibilities.
Salary and Benefits
£31,548 – £34,329 per annum.
