Are you an experienced and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist looking to broaden your experience and take on a fresh challenge? Working alongside well-established multidisciplinary teams, including AHPs, nursing, medical and adult social care colleagues, you will have the opportunity to further develop your leadership skills and gain valuable experience in service development. You will continue to deliver high-quality, person-centred Occupational Therapy to a complex, varied client group, making a meaningful difference to patient outcomes. You will be well supported by experienced colleagues, with access to peer supervision, regular clinical supervision, and ongoing opportunities for CPD and networking supporting you to enhance your knowledge, skills, and confidence.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities:
- To provide a comprehensive service in the specialised area.
- To provide clinical expertise at an advanced level in the assessment, diagnosis and management of highly complex clients.
- To provide specialist input to strategic planning, development, audit and evaluation of clinical services, protocols and policies within the specialised area.
- To ensure service provision in the specialised area is prioritised and service delivery is made effectively within resource constraints.
- To practice within the multidisciplinary team, providing specialist assessments, diagnosis and treatment using advanced clinical reasoning skills.
- To manage a caseload of clients (often varied and with highly complex needs), using evidence based clinical reasoning to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.
- To provide leadership and clinical education for senior, junior and support staff, through supervision and day-to-day support.
- To plan and implement training at a uni-disciplinary and multi-professional level in order to enhance services within the specialism and ensure effective clinical practice.
- To carry out appraisals with junior and support staff, as delegated by Line Manager.
- To regularly supervise undergraduate students on practice placement and participate in placement experience of other professionals.
- To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust.
